More Options – More Functionality Through Gears!
What do gears do?
They prevent the rollers from spinning: Gears significantly increase the device’s functionality. It is well known that rollers in flake crushers can spin. In this new model, one roller is driven directly by the crank, the second roller by the gears. This prevents the annoying spinning.
More options to press various seeds, e.g., also sunflower seeds. Various devices often cannot press larger grains.
No sticking when pressing very oily seeds. Sticking (and thus spinning of the rollers) often occurs when pressing flaxseed, poppy seeds, etc.
The new Salzburg Flake Master with gear drive is worth more than a glance:
The turnery work of a local master workshop shows the highest quality and precision.
The sleek design is combined with perfect technology down to the smallest detail.
You will feel craftsmanship quality that will excite you. Handmade in Salzburg – Each piece is unique.
For a Good Morning!
“Breakfast like an emperor”, says an old saying, and modern science does not change that.
A healthy start to daily life is important. Whether for school, in the office, or in the workshop: The homemade breakfast muesli gives strength and energy!
Industrially produced flakes are often shelf-stable for years. Through high heating, mostly over steam, important vitamins and enzymes are destroyed. It is obvious that the industry informs little about this.
Therefore, the statements on the packaging do not say much about the value of the flakes. In short: Organic quality does not mean wholesome!
“ORGANIC” is an important prerequisite for healthy eating. Even the best, organically grown grain can become almost worthless through improper treatment.
NOT JUST FLAKES – Also crush various spices with the Flake Master: Press the spices for your bread.
The flaker delivers larger, thinner flakes, which you can then crumble into the smallest particles by hand in seconds.
Statement of a professional chef: “Spices are better crushed with the flaker than with any mortar!“ The spices distribute wonderfully in the bread, because of this, for example, fennel is not felt as a spice in the bread. The taste of fennel spreads throughout the bread.
The new Salzburg Flake Master with gear drive flakes and crushes:
All types of grains like oats, spelt, wheat, rye, etc.
Even the smallest grains like quinoa, amaranth, etc.
Large grains like sunflower seeds
Oily seeds such as flaxseed
Spices like peppercorns, fennel, coriander, caraway, etc.
Small woods like licorice, hyssop

For those technically interested, here are the details:
Materials
All wooden parts are made from selected, high-quality oak wood. The oak wood comes exclusively from local forests.
The rollers are made of nickel-free stainless steel.
The gears are cut from corrosion-resistant stainless steel plates.
The scraper blades are also made of stainless steel.
The crank is made of stainless steel with a handle of beech, oak, or walnut wood.
The table clamp is standard commercial merchandise and available with a larger clamping range upon request.
Components
Basic frame
The Y-shape of the uprights meets technical necessity with aesthetic design. The two rear uprights are wider to cover the gears. All 4 uprights serve to hold the rollers and scraper blades, as well as to fix the hopper. A table stop is integrated into the base plate. The table clamp is recessed in the stop, thereby giving higher stability. All edges are rounded.
Hopper
The round, finely crafted shape of the hopper is completely edge-free on the inside. This seamless manufacturing prevents residues of seeds and grains. Hence, contamination is excluded. The hopper base plate forms the transition from the rectangular shape of the uprights to the round shape of the hopper. The hopper unit is attached to the uprights using 4 wooden dowels. For cleaning work on the rollers, the hopper unit can be removed without tools. Furthermore, the hopper base plate covers the front side of the gear cover (child protection). Hopper removal – see operating instructions.
Feed wedge
On the underside of the hopper base plate is the feed wedge, through which the grain flows to the rollers.
Rollers The two rollers made of nickel-free stainless steel move in opposite directions, with the left roller driven by the hand crank. The inner thread of the crank runs outward, the power transmission occurs from the front side of the crank thread to the front side of the roller. Thus, inner and outer threads remain free of force locks. Both rollers have 2 smooth round surfaces, which have a larger diameter than the knurls. This can prevent damage to the knurls during forceful fine adjustment. The opposing knurls cause the crushing process.
Gears
The two corrosion-resistant gears made of stainless steel are pressed onto the rollers after their production in a separate work step. The gears ensure a flawless power transmission to the rollers, which is especially important for very fatty seeds, such as flaxseed.
Hinge screws
On the two hinge screws (which lead through the base frame of the flaker), wing nuts are attached. These are used to adjust the distance between the rollers and can determine the thickness of the flakes.
Fine adjustment – see operating instructions.
Gear cover
A clever wooden casing prevents injuries. The cover has elongated holes, which in connection with wooden pegs ensure a stable attachment. The conical elongated holes, narrow wooden bridges, and contours can only be made from the highest quality wood.
The attachment and removal of the cover is done without tools. See operating instructions.
Wooden pegs
The gear cover is attached to the basic frame with 4 wooden pegs. The wooden pegs are not commercial merchandise; they are specially made for this flaker. The conical flank on the peg ensures that the cover is always centered. The peg stop ensures an even installation depth and thus a tight closure.
Scraper blades
The scraper blades made of stainless steel remove the pressed material from the rollers
Hand crank
The hand crank is made of stainless steel and the handle is made of oak wood. The external thread is screwed into the thread of the left roller.
Tray
The flaked material falls from the rollers into the tray, which is situated between the uprights, on the base plate.
Wedge
The included wooden wedge is used to loosen the crank after a pressing process – see operating instructions.
Brass brush
The included brass brush is used for cleaning the rollers and the scraper blades, as well as the feed wedge – see operating instructions.
Summary:
The used components are exclusively produced in Austria.
The flakers are hand-assembled, individually checked, and tested.
